  1. yup, games. they are the best way to learn. visuals especially... even i find it hard learning and taking things in simply by just reading. We all have different ways of learning. Maybe you should find out which way she learns better either through: visuals, aural or reading. Don't be to fussed on 4 year olds. they will bloom when the time is right.

  2. You should try buying your child games that are ment to be for learning. Also try reading to your child every night and ask questions to see if your child is understanding the story. Ask your child to to answer simple questions like What color is this. Or what shape is this. Or teach your child the sounds of the letters.

  3. Get some charts and teach her while doing your daily chores, this way she'll find it fun.

  4. well there are only a few things a 4 year old needs to know.

like:spelling "I", "AM", IT, THE, MOM, DAD, GOG, and her own name.

    hope i helped you!

  5. Play Eye Spy,flash cards, computer games (look at the post office shop), the Internet has free games, make letters in play dough, sand and draw the letters......look at signs, read lots of books and discuss the repeated letters and sounds (DR Seuss are good).... practise letters and sounds for the alphabet... Lots and lots of reading together -you reading and discuss the pictures, words and meanings... Everyday life, IE when your doing the shopping, look at the labels, words and sounds in the product names...There are commercial programs available at teaching shops too....Try the Sigfried Engleman books for reading - (major book shops)....

  6. one of the most thorough programs for beginning reading and phonics is that which is available through A Beka Books.  I firmly believe that the reason I now spell and read better than most of the people I know is that I had the advantage of learning with A Beka charts, flashcards, and beginning reading books.

  7. Check out the dollar store and if that fails an educator supplier.  Their are inexpensive games and flash cards that will help.

  8. Why dont you go for buying some good books regarding this, and study on your own and teach her, there are many boooks regarding this in the market

    all the best

  9. gayle's preschool website it has activities and worksheets to help with nubers and alphabet

    hope its of any help
