  1. Sounds like you could also use a registry cleaner,by cleaning out your registry it will mark all those areas for deletion.

A better way of getting rid of these vile pop ups may require you to wipe your hard drive out(don't use the windows format utility)as it don't actually wipe the info off the drive it merely slates the bits to be over written the next time you download a website etc.you'll need experience in the area of over writing the drive in binary 0's and 1's some utilities allow it to be over written several times, remember however there will be NO recoverable data left on the hard drive, also you must know whether or not if something loaded in hi mem that it did not create a partition for its exe on your drive,so make sure you delete all partitions. Then you may re-install the os.Please note that if you do not have experience do NOT attempt to do this on your own,as all software will be deleted.

And some hard drives require a format utility usually included with a drive purchased.

There is also an option to prevent such sites if your running windows by increasing your internet security settings.

You may want to contact the authorities on the matters to let them know what has happened, that way there is a recorded history of unintentional download.and it may give them some info on tracking down those responsible for serving such pics.Be prepared for them to take your computer or hard drive to examine you never know.good luck.

  2. Those links are in your computers history forever.  If it truly was an accident and there are no other links I am sure they can be explained away.  If it is not an accident and you are caught, you are in big trouble.

  3. Ok, first off.

    1)  Download NoScript : This addon is a must for surfing the web, it prevents pop-ups, loading of objects (videos, other stuff), downloads on unsafe websites.  I know what you mean, you click a link and get redirected instantly to another, happens when you least expect it.

Best solution I can advice against future issues.  Also maybe get AVG internet security, it actually blocks entire pages from loading if deemed questionable (only had it select a site as questionable 2x, and I surf the net a lot)

I provided the links for the two below, also if you don't already, use Mozilla Firefox, easy to use and a lot safer than IE, Netscape.  (Never used Opera, so can't say)

Good luck and happy surfing, also what was said above is true, unless you do some extensive work and replace your hard-drive.  But for a few redirect links it isn't a big deal, only if it is intentional and done frequently.

  4. How did your post get posted in the Politics section.

If it were an accident that p**n popped up on your computer you need to be careful what you open. Are you positive that you never once visited a p**n site.
