I need help with the tv converter boxes?

I have 3 tvs in my house. We currently do not get cable but we are planning on getting Dish. Do we need tv converter boxes?

It depends on WHEN you are going to get Dish.  The date for the transition is February 17, 2009.  If you are going to get Dish before then (you'd better be sure), then you won't need a converter box.

If you are going to sign up for Dish after that date, you will either need to get a converter box or you guys will have to go without TV until you get signed up.  Hope this helps!

Whether its a Free To Air Network, Dish Network or Digital Cable Network, as long as your buying it *New* theres a high chance that it has *DVB* (Digital Video Broadcasting), therefore digital converter is not needed.  

Always ask does this come with *DVB* which is a digital broadcast source.

Analog Communications are slowly dieing out, so, make sure it has a Digital Source before buying it.

However, if the TV has a built-in digital converter, you won't need a digital converter box at all.

That is a negative.

Satellite is a digital source, not an analog source therefore you don't need a converter box.
