I need to do an essay about Anthem: (it reads...)

"Every character in the novel Anthem makes choices and decisions which affect their lives and their futures, for better or for worse. They all posses the choice to think or not.

In a well organized essay discuss the choices 3 characters from the novel make and the impact their choices have on their lives. Argue heter you think that these choices affect the character in a positive or negative way. Are the consequences these characters must face for having made these choices justifiable? Are the choices made consciously? Cite the text"

Thanks in advance...

  2. I read this book and loved it. It's mostly about a person "Equality 7-2521" in where he lives in a futuristic world where all people have lost any sense of individualism. Everyone lives and works in collective groups and at a certain age, they are told what to do and they do that same job for the rest of their lives, for as long as they are able. There's more to it but I don't feel like typing it all out...

I'm not doing your essay for you. However I can help you with choosing your characters. For one Equality 7-2521 had to choose between staying in the collective being or follow his personal will and branch out from the mindless herd. He follows his instincts and presents his own personally invented "light-bulb" which later banishes him to the Uncharted Forest and so on. Another character is Liberty 5-3000 who likes Equality 7-2521. She must choose to pursue a relationship with Equality 5-3000 or not to. Another character is Union 4-8818. He discovers the tunnel left from the Unmentionable Times with Liberty 7-2521. Union 4-8818 must choose to report this finding to the Council or not to. He doesn't.

When citing the text, try to search for places that mention those people. And find the chapters where they first appear in the book. And mention where in the book you found those too!! Don't forget that!!!!

The rest is really your personal opinion, and I can't help you there.

    Good luck!!
