I need help with this math question! asap!!?

okay. here's the question.

the median of a set of 20 numbers is 24.

the range is 42.

to the nearest whole number the mean is 24.

no more than three numbers are the same.

I've been trying to figure this thing out for like the longest time.

Can you please help me. it's really important.

they can't be asking what the 20 numbers are because there are too many possibilities.

Your question says find a set (emphasis on "a")  That is, you get to make one up.  The range is 42 so have a low of 3 and a high of 44 (form 3 to 44 is a range of 42 numbers), the median (middle number is 24 (so if you put them in order, number 10 and number 11 can be 24)

So.....  3  5   7  12  16  18 19  20    22    24  24 26  28  29  30  32  36  41  43   45  

Those 20 numbers add up to  480  so the mean is 24.   Sounds like it should work!  Of course there are a hundred other possible solutions, adn what you wrote in your problem is not enough information to figure out one "only" answer.

What's the exact question that says in your notes? The question seems incomplete for a reason or not really clear.
