Equation :

Factor completely .

x^(9/4) - x^(1/4)

the answer is x^(1/4) (x-1) (x+1) but i dont know how to do get there ! please help !

  1. Factor out X^(1/4)

    x^(1/4)[x^(8/4) - x^0)  (subtract exponents 9/4 - 1/4 = 8/4)

    x^(1/4)[x^2-1]

    then just factor x^2-1

    x^(1/4)[(x+1)(x-1)]
