For a reaction that takes place near room temperature, how would an increase of 10 degrees Celsius have an effect on the reaction speed?

  1. Generally the speed of a chemical reaction doubles with each 10 degree Celsius increase in temperature. So, in your case the reaction speed would be doubled.


  2. Well, it depends on the type of reaction basically.

    If its an endothermic reaction(Takes Heat for completion) then the reaction rate would increase as the temperature is increased.

    While if its an Exothermic one(Releases heat on completion) then reaction will slow down, or might even reverse its direction.
