I need help with this suicidal Libra friend of mine; How to get a Libra to toughen up?

I have this Libra friend, I'm not too close to him but he is always telling everyone he is suicidal, depressed, and lonely, he is 24 years old. He has relationship problems also, every woman dumps him because he refuses to take care of himself and is not taking any responsibility for his own happiness, he is trying to get everyone's attention by saying "I'm suicidal, and no one loves me, if I die it's gonna be your fault because you don't love me." In hopes of everyone giving sympathy for him, and hoping some girl will fall for him to be his girlfriend. He has also been leaving messages on MSN saying he will commit suicide and goes "away" but then keeps returning, and keeps repeating, and I know he is hoping someone will be sympathetic to him. But this has happened 5 times and has put everyone in a panic, and has never tried to commit suicide, so no one cares now. For me though, depression was tough, but I overcame it with willpower, I never ever told anyone though from being scared.

It sounds like he just wants attention, But I would still take him seriously if everyone stops caring he will most likely really do something and you don't want that.Maybe try to convince him he's better off without a girl,and I know this sounds weird but try to give him a reason to live,and try to get him around more people.Dont give up hope,But I could understand it getting annoying hearing him talk about something he hasn't done yet. Well what i would do... i would happily give him an overdose of attention and give him real insight into his problem...

#1 call him to say you would like to come over...

#2 show up genuine to be there (of course) and just chat w him all night about anything he wants to talk about

#3 tell him the truth "look you settling for depression isnt going to get you anywhere, you have so much potential..." he's a libra for gawd.sake all he has to do is turn on the charm (their the second most seductive- behind #1 scorpios of course) you know encourage him frankly and tell him you'll be there for him. get him to love himself again.

After that night, keep on calling him to go out w you... go out and show him a good time every chance you get (stay on top of it) and everytime he gets negative... get positive and encouraging

you as a friend have to sacrifice your next days to possibly months to put him in one of your v top priorities- until you are sure he is 100%

make sure if he just needs the company or if it's more serious

All the details you gave us is irrelevant- It's the big picture and facts that need to be tackled

i think that it's harsh and wrong to say he is seeking attention... ppl express themselves differently- bottom line your friend is hurting and you are suppose to be there for your friends no matter what- listen to what HE'S saying- not what society, social culture or you want to interpret as- for instance.

back hand him and tell him that his lazy a$$ is the reason of his own problems. continue by kneeing his balls (im assuming they are still there) and kick him while he is down untill he decides to man up stop being such an emo b%^ch (tell him that you will continue untill he does what i said) call me what you like but i wouldnt doubt it if he was raised having his way so its about time he realized thats not how things are gona be so its about time he was filled with the tough love his parents were to d**n stupid to install while he was young.

Since he is a Libra he loves any attention he can get. Libra is also One of the best signs at manipulating people. You should try to help him but don't fall for his tricks, he has many. He might not really be suicidal at all but you can't really be sure. My advice would be to do anything you can but don't to too much because he really isn't your responsibility. One thing you can do is hang out with him because he hates being alone, other than that you shouldn't do too much.
