I have an ivory dress! My bridesmaids will be in a deep ruby to burgendy dress! I am going to use cala lillies and roses!

What would be better... Bride have an all white/ivory bouquet or a deep red bouquet?

And for the girls should they have white (if I had a red bouquet or even a white one) or should they carry like yellow n orange calas

Or something different?

I really need help decideing since the wedding date is Sept 12 this year!

  1. If your dress is ivory, no one should be carrying white flowers, it will make your dress  look dirty.

They should carry yellow and orange and you should have red.

  2. Hi and congratulations!

    Ohhh....so pretty!  Hmmm...I can't decide myself.

I LOVE the "contrast" -- you with a deep red bouquet and the girls with a white bouquet.

However, I really like the idea of the yellow and orange calla lillies for the girls.  I think that will really make the pictures "pop" and, with it being fall, it blends right into the color scheme of the season.

My daughter was married in October and the girls had royal blue dresses.  The flowers were reds, oranges, yellows and the pictures absolutely looked great with those bright colors!

Yes, I would go with either (a) all white for you...OR (b) a white bouquet with some deep reds.

Then go with the oranges and yellows for the bridesmaids.  Personally, I think that will look great!

  3. I would say for you, the red roses would be gorgeous.

You could also do something like this:

For your girls... I'd do a white and red bouquet. Or they could all have white bouquets.

  4. I think that the deep red bouquet would look wonderful!  Such a great contrast.

You can get the calla lilies in that color, and of course roses.  Even consider gerber daisies.  They are less expensive and take up more room!

The maids bouquets would be beautiful in white.  For a pinch on color have your maid of honor have a single deep red rose in middle of her white bouquet.

When you meet with your florist she will be able to guide you along!

    Have a wonderful marriage!!

  5. I think for a September wedding a bouquet of white calla lilies would be lovely for the bride. Maybe you could have the florist wrap the calla's in ruby or burgundy fabric/ribbon. Something simple like this:

Or maybe you could add in a few red roses:

For the girls I think that you could do a combo of red, burnt orange and yellow. Maybe something like this:

Don't worry - I am sure that whatever you decide it will look beautiful. Can't go wrong with calla lilies and roses.

    Good luck!

  6. You can't mix white and ivory... :)  Use the "dusty" old fashioned subtle colors.  Your florist should be helping you, if you have a talented designer they'd know what to have you carry.  If you're not getting any help get a new florist, you're paying for their expertise!

  7. Honestly, I think that any of the combinations you mentioned would be nice.  I think that the red bouquet would look beautiful with your dress and white would look good with the BM's dresses.

  8. oh wow your cutting it close hun...i had a cascade bouquet and my flowers were silk bc i wanted to save mine and the cost of money was cheaper. Anywho why not mix the ivory with the red rather than having just one color.  The more mixture the better it will look on you. The girls can have  hint of the color from your bouquet in small bundles but not so much mixture...if you have any other questions holler im on yahoo.

  9. Brazilian Lillies...

  10. If it were me, I'd go with mostly red and some hints of white (maybe even reddish/orange hints as well!) for the bride's bouqet, and the opposite for the bridal party...mostly white with hints of red roses and orange flowers.

I think the orange roses with the red on the top are beautiful and would make a great accent color!

  11. well if you dress is ivory i would go with off white roses anda have dark red roses around it the best deep red roses are called black bacara, when i got married i had all white roses in the middle and all red on the outside. or you can mix red and orange roses on the outside.

also there is a flower called stephanorisis they are very small and you can have a red and orange roses mixed bouquet with the stephanorisis in the middle

  12. I think that it would be beautiful for you to carry red roses and you could even add in a few ivory calla for a nice contrast. I do not think that the girls should carry orange and yellow though. I think that would look way to fall like and your wedding is still bordering on summer....unless of course you are having a fall themed wedding. I would suggest the girls carrying simple ivory long stemed callas like an arm presentation with the stems laced up like a ballerina shoes with a red ribbon. Simple, classy, and beautiful. Doing only like 4-6 callas per girl would probably save you money, too rather than a dozen of roses would. Best of Luck to you!

  13. you should carry red ones. they should carry pinky-orange or orange and yellow. they shoudn't carry white ones. white is for the bride.
