  1. That advice sounds good but  the difference is you are talking about Wells Fargo !

Iwas with Crcoker National Bank which became Wells Fargo in total=31 years without ever an overdraft etc.  I was using their on-line bill pay system when one of the payments took a bit longer than the usual for processing the payment on my WELLS FARGO VISA CARD from my WELLS FARGO CHECKING ACCOUNT  I was charged a late fee !  I asked to speak o the supervisor explaining that the reason it was late was because WELLSFARGO  had a delay in making the (mailed) payment.  I was told that this was of no concern to them the late fee would not be forgiven !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since this was on the heels of several other abuses by WELLS FARGO  I have cancelled all of my accounts with that organization and will not do any business with them again---they introduced more and more gouging fees for incidentals and the customer is never right with them.

My advice is take your banking to a good bank and let Wells Fargo go their own way !

  2. There will probably be a fee for every day you're overdrawn, plus a fee for each item that further overdraws the account. I think your best bet would be to talk to a customer service supervisor, explain the situation, ask them if they would reverse some of the fees as customer goodwill. If your account is usually in good standing, they may. If you are overdrawn a lot, probably not. If you stay calm and sound nice and have a good explanation, you'll get farther. Good luck!!

  3. you get charged for every purchase that over drafts your account. if you can put money into your account while the charges are pending you can avoid the fee, because deposits clear before with drawls.

you can set up a savings account that will act as a overdraft protection.
