I need help writing my essay?

Using Janie and Milkmanb Dead write an essay that compares and contrasts the manner in which these two characters create identitites for themselves within their respective African American communities?

Could you simplify this for me? or perhaps help me structure the essay

I was planning to take Janie and describe the events that led her to the person she is and same with Milkman.

what i hate is that the teacher told us to not write a threepoint thesis and/ 5 paragraph essay

so how should i struvture my essay?

Unfortunately, I have not read the work about which you speak; however, I can help you write an essay that is not three point thesis and a 5 paragraph essay.

Instead of writing a five paragraph essay, you could write four paragraphs or six paragraphs.

The four paragraph essay would most likely be the easiest.  Your first paragraph could be how they compare, and your second, how they contrast.

You could also write a four paragraph essay and the two body paragraphs could be on each of their African American communities, or one could be on Janie and the other Milkman.

If your teacher does not want you to write out a three point thesis, then she might want you to have a thesis opener.  Not many teachers use this, but basically, it is where you write your thesis over the four or five sentences you have in your opening paragraph.

In any case, all these ideas are different and tricky if you have not necessarily used them before, so be careful.
