  1. A syllabus truly doesn't need to be "introduced" to students.  I usually give the syllabus to my students in written form and try to limit it to two pages.  I then go over the specific requirements in the first hour of a class at the beginning of a term or semester.  That is all the introduction they need.  If you want specifics on what to put in the syllabus, your school likely has guidelines, but a typical syllabus will have information on the class, information on any textbooks or reference material that is required, classroom projects, grading system of the instructor, plagiarism policies, thoughts on absenteeism and use of cell phones/texting instruments, and specific requirements set forth by the institution, such as Americans with Disabilities Act.  Good luck.
