Before me Ainy Merchant has given a good answer.

I mayself , I have been profoundly touched by Bande Mataram of Sri Bankim Chndra Chatterjee and the role of Sri Aurobindo in 1905. This was no ordinary poem, but a mantra that raised the sleeping nation to face the British bullets and untold atrocities. Ordinary boy's and young men went smiling to the gallows !

I also love the song sung by Sm. Lata Mangeshkar after the Chinese war ; tears rolled down the eyes of Pandit Nehru.

Ye mere watan ke logon,

Jara ankhon me bharlo pani,

Jo shahid huen hein unaki

Jara yad karo kurbani.

Sangin pe dhar kar matha,

So gayi amar balidani,.................Jo shahid huen hein unaki...
