im going into 8th grade and last year as a seventh grader i was on the B team...this year i really want to be on the A team, you have to have a consistent overhand serve(which mine isn't quite consistent), and you have to be good...any tips on being a better player?

  1. 1.) be aggressive, never give up.

2.) on your overhand serve try to get a good toss right in front of you.

3.) the hand you serve with make sure that arm is right beside your head and just practice bending your elbow and snapping your risk at the same time. do it everyday it will let yo get used to the overhand serve.

    good luck(=

  2. as for over hand serving...well..im going into 9th grade and this year on our grade 8 team at school..i could not over hand serve, but i did have an awesome underhand which won us a lot of games because no one, and i mean no one could pass..but then when i went to club later on in the year we had to over hand serve..basically what i did was id take my volleyball into the back yard and work on my technique...i didnt really care how hard or far it went..i was just getting comfortable with how i was going to serve..that way when i got on the court for practice i new what i was doing..and just had to work on distance and strength.........as for preparing to be on the team i would suggest some camps ..and or some key things to work on for a grade 8 team....i would have to say you should work on passing( underhand and over)...setting different heights and distance( if interested in being a setter)...hitting and serving.......my coach always said the three main things that are the most important in a game if you want to win is..

    1) Serving-if you cant get the ball over the next, youll never win

2)Serve riece(passing)-if you cant get a good pass up to your setting you cant get an approach

    3)control
