  1. Study hard and become a tutor, use your brain and knowledge, you'll get paid a lot better than mowing the lawn or walking the dogs. Tutoring looks a lot better on college applications than walking neighbor's dog. Make your parents proud, don't make them worry about your future.

  2. why don't you start your own babysitting service?take a class to show

you are professional and you'll build up quickly people are always

looking for good sitters and the word spreads fast: I think they should

bring 'em & pick 'em up at your house because it will allow you to

watch several kids and make more $

  3. The biggest problem is that labor laws require anyone under 18 to obtain a work permit. And, you have to be 16 to get one. Your only choice is to do odd jobs for people (gardening or cleaning for houses in your neighborhood, for example). Or, you might be able to do basic tasks at a business where you know the owner (friend of the family or whatever) and just get paid cash under the table.

  4. Hi!

I have been searching this subject for quite some time now...so when I become 14 (13 till April) I can have all my ducks in a row. :)

So what I have found so far is that for most states, If your 14 or 15, you have to obtain a workers permit. All you have to do is to go to your school guidence coulnser and ask for one. Then have everyone whos required fill it out; example: Parent or gauridain, You, Employer, and your school. If you can't get a workers permit at your school, just get one off the internet. Not hard...right?

You can either go straight to the US Department of Labor site: http://www.dol.gov/   or you can  search Google and that might bring other helpful info. (If using Google, Type in US Department of Labor. And when the search results have been shown, click on the first one...that should take you directly to the US Department of Labor.) Then once you get to the site there, you want to find your state. (You'll problay will click on a map that has your state on it. I put the link of the map in my sources) Then after you get to your state, click on youth employment...if its not there search the site.

You CAN get a job at 14. But there are restirctions. Like how many hours you can work and what you are allowed to do.

Sorry, this answer is not the greatest, but I hope it helped! :)

Just search around on the US Department of Labor site and on Google. You'll get alot of info.! Or just go to your school, and ask for a workers permit. There are Workers Permits on the internet, but if your getting one (from the Internet) make sure you have the right state!

    GOOD LUCK!

  5. Dairy Queen hires 14 year olds.

  6. I admire your enterprising attitude.  Your parents are proud of you I am sure.

However, by law, kids under a certain age are not allowed to be employed with pay checks and all that.  You CAN work for neighbors who would want you to baby sit, walk the dog, mow the yard or wash windows.  Or even do house cleaning inside an out.  Or washing and cleaning outside and inside the car.

Regular jobs?  None.  Sorry.  Cna't ride a pizza delivery truck.

  7. How'd you like a job where you can:

    1. Use your computer

    2. Make everyone happy by cleaning out closets, garages, etc.

    3. Make a lot of money?

Sell stuff on ebay!  Get your folk's permission to sell your old, clean, used stuff.  Set up a PayPal account to go into your checking account at the bank.  You may need their help to set up a checking account, but that's easy.  Anybody of any age can have a checking account.

Get an inexpensive digital camera and learn to take good pictures of the items you want to sell.

Read the "How To's" of selling on ebay, and read a lot of other seller's descriptions to learn how to write your own good descriptions.  Learn how the auction and "buy it now" system works. Be honest. Earn good ratings.

Ship promptly using PayPal's Priority Mail shipment.  Limit your sales area to the USA to keep shipping costs low.  The USPS will GIVE you free boxes to ship your things in!  You can even order Priority mail boxes online from the USPS website.

My two teenagers funded weeks and weeks of camp, their own computer and stereo equipment, cameras, bikes, school supplies and clothes selling stuff from their closets, our basement, the garage, and crawlspace.  Next, they went to their grandparents houses and did the same thing.  Instead of getting paid money to clean, they took the unwanted stuff and sold it.

I don't understand why so many people overlook this "job".  You may not get health insurance or other benefits, but for teens, this is a perfect enterprise!  And it pays super fast, too!
