I need iHome help NOW?

Question

I just bought an iHome iH4 and i have a 2nd generation iPod nano.

In the instructions it says "never dock an iPod without the insert in place"

Well the insert for my iPod didnt come with the iHome, and I plugged it in and everything is working fine. Does anyone know why the instructions say that?

Ps. When I bought my iPod it came with the insert so I know where to get one if I need one.

Please help though, I REALLY dont want to damage my iPod!
