My Grandmother died recently and I am looking for a tattoo in memory of her. I am going to include a few details about her. I want something classy and that really applies to her and I.

-She was 1/2 American Indian

-She died on July 6th 2008

-Both of our middle names are June

-She was born in September

-I called her "Ma"

Any ideas would be fantastic

  1. Possibly a kind of bird such as a hawk with an indian twist to it such as the feather style and markings(On beak, body and head)(beads possibly). A smaller bird(same kind)  Flying underneath to symbol as a mother. Have June Inscribed possibly diagonally from the main part of the tattoo in a very elegant script and have 08 printed smaller and in block type underneath June. I cant describe it as as well as Id like to..

  2. My grandmother died recently too and my sister got a tattooo of a rose with my grandmothers initials. Maybe you could do something like that.

  3. Do you have any photos of her?  Maybe a portrait with surrounding items of things that were important to her/you to add to the design element.  Did she have a favorite flower or color that you both share?

  4. an Indian feather headband with her favorite colors in the feathers, with June scripted either above or below the band. Sept. flower intertwined into the band also (the Aster is Love, Faith, Wisdom and symbolizes Valor)

    I hope this has helped.

  5. What about a portrait? That is a lot of random details to include in a tattoo otherwise. Maybe do her portrait with her representing her Indian culture. You can have the birthday and the day she passed underneath it.
