  1. I work at a daycare and here are some of the themes that we do

Zoo Animals, Circus, Fabulous Fall, Dinosaurs, Sesame Street, Bugs, Dr. Seuss, Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Ocean Life, Fire Safety(firetrucks, etc.),

Airplane Theme-  Set up chairs like a real airplane--dramatic play and pretend to be on an airplane--fastening seatbelts, take off, landing, having snacks on the plane.  Art-trace a paper plane and have them color or paint it.    My daycare has a theme called On the Go--Air, Water, and Ground Transportation.

  2. This is my favorite Preschool site.  Hope you can find something useful.

    That's a cute idea!

  3. 1) Children can make their own aeroplanes-use bottles, kitchen roll tubes etc....they can stick things on paint, colour etc and can be whatever style they choose. Once dry take them outside and have a play.

    2) Going on Holiday roleplay-set up an aeroplane using chairs. One can be pilot, some workers, some going on holidays. Have a space for luggage etc...can extend by using old cardboard boxes to be the outside of the plain....again can be decorated.

    3) Is there any company's nearby who have gliders? Maybe if you have a large open space near you one could come to visit?

    4) Music and movements-fast and slow planes, planes in a thunderstorm, planes landing. Can link to a game like musical chairs where chair is the hanger!

Look on websites like cbeebies, underfives.co.uk etc for ideas.

  4. Why don't you do vehicles?  Call around and have local truckers, stone quarry,  farmers bring in their large vehicles to show and tell about them.  You could do a craft or skill sheet with what vehicles travel on land, air or water.

Boys love dinosaurs - oceans - vehicles - different seasons - you can find all kinds of themes for those active boys!

    Have fun!

  5. hi to try and answer your question, ask the children for their ideas and work off them, because they might like something that you may not have heard or seen of and i say just go with what they are interested in, it just makes it easier on yourself...

do some kind of brain storm on a board so that you could see what their interest are...

just a quick idea, make airplanes out of plastic bottles (coke, milk bottles) and card board as the wings then get them to design them.

or hats, with wings on the side

i hope i've helped you with what your looking for

  6. make paper airplains and have races

  7. I think a sports theme, or space theme would be cute love the airplane theme sounds very cute!!! I think it would be cute if you had airplanes drawn all over the walls and had them hanging from the ceiling:) lol I remember in my preschool it was so cute we had this corner of the room where every week there would be a new theme and one time it was a space ship and the teach made a huge space ship out of paper you could walk in to and it was awesome!!!! Lol from what I remember anyway:) and one time it was like china and she made the great wall and we ate what they eat there and some time it was a tea party but, I guess that's more girly lol:) So why not make a plane out of cardboard like the space ship I just remember we all love the themes they were so cool!!! Maybe ask the kids for ideals too:) Good Luck I bet your a great teacher!!!
