I need ideas for a surprise this weekend?

I want to treat my wife this weekend. I'd like to take her to a Spa or somewhere she can be pampered. We have a 15 month old baby, so he has to come too. Does anyone know of somewhere in England (I live in Hertfordshire) that isn't too far a drive that I can take her to be treated like a queen and stay overnight.

I'd really appreciate any sensible answers..

  2. I think your original idea sounds pretty cool man, stick to that.

    I er, don't live any where near Hertfordshire and don't know that region of England all that well heh.

    however, your Spa idea is pretty bad ***. Do that one instead,  you'll so be the man. If you can find a place that does all that, and that 'hot stones' thing, where they put these hot stones all over your body and let you unwind,  that would be pretty boom.

    Also if she hasn't had a pedicure lately, treat her to one of those too. Finish the night off with a nice quiet meal at a cosy restraunt where its candle lit dinner or something, over a glass of fine wine.

  3. It's probably very far to go but h**r Cross Hall in the midlands is great. It is a spa with lots of activities and treatments with great gardens and nice rooms. I remember it being reasonably priced and the restaurant is lovely. She can be pampered all day and your baby will love the gardens I'm sure. Lucky lady. Can't you find anything on google?

  4. This website, Wahanda, has a list of spas nearby Hertfordshire and the East of England.  Maybe you can get some ideas and inspiration from here.  The lists of spas also have all the treatments that are offered so you can make sure there is something for you, your wife and family.

    The top lists what types of spas are available:

    It looks like there are 23 of them

        * Day Spas (9)

        * Destination Spas (2)

        * Fitness Centres (6)

        * Hotel Spas (4)

        * Medical Spas (2)

    Hope this helps!

  5. i don't know about overnight, but i would recommend somewhere in mid wales called the brecon beacons. you can rent cottages in beautiful countryside for a few days, in somewhat isolation, and as it's the summer it should be breathtaking....
