I need ideas for a sweet sixteen birthday party!!! please help?

my lil sisters sweet 16 is next saturday and i need ideas for games and decoration!! please help she wants the theme to be like red carpet and champagne glasses, but its also a pool party so i need ideas for the back yard... please help!!

ok make a spot for everyone who is coming and put a red towel at their spot with a cute little fancy name tag and maybe put some spot lights up around the pool to mock the the camera's that might be at a red carpet event if you watn so more just email me im very creative [e-mail]

I like cheer up Sunshine's ideas, as for things to do, what about a movie trivia game with an award going to the person who answers the most questions.  Make a podium for them to give their acceptance speech.  Trivia could be about your sister, what is her favorite color, food, etc., things her friends should know about her.  

If this is a boy girl party you might want to consider some competitive games for the guys.  Horseshoes, Crockett, volleyball, water balloon toss, etc.

Decorations should be in reds & gold, have champagne glasses filled with fruit, empty ones for beverages.   Make a big poster sign welcoming your guests with her photo on there and have everyone sign the poster.  

Food - get a cake of course, but see if you can find a place that can screen her photo onto the cake.  Serve elegant bite size foods like shrimp cocktail, tenderloin sliders with carmelized onions, bite size quiche, cheese with flat breads, grapes, etc.  Have fun.

A bathing suit Red Carpet affair?  Interesting.  =)  

A lot of party stores sell themed decorations for "Hollywood" or "Red Carpet."  If there's a big one in your town I'd reccommend going there and splurging for a lot of things that are very cheap.

Champagne glasses - plastic of course.  You can make fancy ice cubes and put them in a fancy punch bowl.

There's cheap ice swan molds online, that'd be a laugh and it's fancy, I dunno, I always wanted one at one of my birthday parties...

So get a big felted long red carpet to set before the door.  You can make foil stars and put them all over the walls.  Put disposable cameras on tables outside for the kids to use, and then they can leave them for your sister to develop for memories.  For your sister, her seat could be a director's chair that all your guests decorate - maybe for a surprise before they eat.

She'll be set with pool games, all kids are, and inside, you can watch old movies or play party board game types, like Apples to Apples.  To make it even fancier, you should make place cards for all the guests.

A good decorating idea is a reel of film.

She could even have people model their swimsuits...

Mostly, go crazy in the party decoration stores with posters and hanging decorations and pictures of movie stars, but everybody will just hang out and as long as everybody is really comfortable with each other, games will break out and you won't need to worry at all.

buy a big cake, rent soldiers or cadets to make it seem interesting, punch, ice sculpture, tiara, new shoes on a pillow, music, chips, sodas, apitaisers, 10 candles requesting on the people to give thanks (for the 16 year old to do that)
