I need ideas for a themed pub crawl for a birthday/welcome home party?

Maybe you could make it a Scavenger Hunt too.  Hand out a specific list of things that they must collect as they go.  You can make this as hard or easy or as crazy as you think that your group can handle.

For example - something from each location with the pubs name on it, like a menu or matchbook or ashtray or tee-shirt, with a prize for most creative.  

- home phone number of one of the bartenders or waitresses or owners at each place.

-as many different coasters with the names of beer or liquor companys

on them

-item of food from each - chips, chicken wings, pickled eggs etc..

-item of clothing

Like I said you can make it as crazy as your participants can handle.

Example - item of clothing from a complete stranger !!??

When you play this game, you can have them get the same items from each location or just have them complete a list and it doesn't matter if they get one from each as long as it's complete.  

You can include items like, a receipt from a taxi, or the signature and badge number of a police officer, somebodies underwear ??!!
