  1. Wow, OK, here goes:

A hat on a bed is considered, in the southern U.S., to be bad luck. That would be an awfully easy one.

A building with the address 13 would also be good.

A building with horseshoes nailed above the door.

A table with a birthday cake and several candles left burning. Disappointed faces, maybe?

Someone at a table where salt has been spilled, tossing it over their left shoulder.

    People breaking a wishbone.

A single magpie is considered to be a bad omen so you could get pastorally Van Gogh-ish with that.

An old lady at Bingo, with all her amulets and talismans around her, or something similar with a dice or poker game.

A self portrait with your face reflected in a broken mirror.

Oooh, I like that one. It has Van Gogh written all over it.

Black cats? People walking under ladders? (lean it on a haystack!)

OK  . . . well . . . I think that's all I've got. I hope it was helpful, I like the sound of your project. Have some fun with it and good luck on your exams!
