Question:

I need ideas for food for a kids strawberry shortcake party?

I'm serving strawberry shortcake as a desert. The party is going to be in August so grilling ideas are great but I live in WI and the weather can be unpredictible. I'm having about 30 guests (My husband has a lot of siblings). My daughter is turning 2 years old. I hope that this is enough info. I was kind of thinking of getting subs from Subway or Pizza from Pizza Hut. I don't really want to cook unless I can cook the meal ahead of time. I just want something that is easy & unique.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

  1. For kids, you could do miniatures (cocktail sized sausages, mini burgers, mini pizzas, mini taquitos, etc).  That would be cute because adults would like it and it sort of represents how little your daughter is.

  2. If you feel adventurous you can make sandwiches in shapes with cookie cutters, stars etc... Whatever type of cookie cutter you have.  premade veggie tray, Chips and dip, chex mix or popcorn with red m & m's, and strawberry punch.

  3. You should find a really fun place to do the party because that way you won't have a huge mess in your house since there's going to be a lot of people, also have a lot fun mini games

  4. Pizza, everyone loves pizza. It's easy and not that expensive! Also, how about chocolate covered strawberries?

  5. For dessert ... locate a bakery that can make strawberry  icing cupcake ... instead of a cake.  You don't have to cut it.

As for the food ... Order it from Pizza Hut.  They have Pizzas and Pastas too.

  6. subs for adults pizza for kids
