I need ideas for my anime club?

This year I'm the president of the anime club at my school. In the past all we've done is watch different animes, but haven't really done anything else. We've lost many members due to the fact that the club was too "boring" and I wanted to spice it up and make it happinin again this year. Problem is, I don't know what else we could do. Any ideas? Many thanks ;D

  1. you could cosplay and have a cosplay party. Whoever has the best costume, wins a prize or something.

have contests and stuff. like a drawing contest.

    Role play

    cosplay

    drawing contests

etc, theres lots of things you could do.

    hope this helped! ^^

  2. How about you roleplay?

I agree with the first person, you can plan a trip to go to an anime convention. You'll cosplay as an anime character and have lots of fun. :D

  3. You could try picking a date for a cosplay ... party a date for trying to draw anime ... a date where you could start a debating contest on weather to try to make a newspaper of the anime club or not .... you can do a lot of things .... you can try to give yourself nicknames from anime or ranks from different animes ....

ar you could try chosin an anime for every meeting and ask Q and talk all day about the same anime and you would have to make some paper medals or something like that and then start trying to see which one of you knew the most ... and on the medals write the names ot the characters from that anime and give the medals  by how important the character is and how much they know about the anime :P

Hope this is enough for you :D

  4. Squiggle, I wouldn't say every "hardcore anime fan" loves conventions. A lot of the CHILDREN who dare to call themselves "otaku" would rather stay home.

    Meh, but anyway ~

When I used to attend the anime club at my high school (before annoying Freshman joined in, and had the name changed to the "Otaku Club") we had -

Drawing contents depending on the holidy - Prizes were usually manga, anime, gift cards to book stores.

Website was made to keep up with things - a lot of people (not myself) but even so, used DeviantART to keep in touch with things.

Raised money to GO to an anime convention during summer school (since school in the US usually ends in June).

They got to have gaming contests, like you see at Anime Expo

Also, there were times when they watched anime, and either continued it, or had people vote.

Basically you need to do/have something that more than five people would enjoy and participate in.

It's no fun if only a few people go, or enjoy.

Snacks is a good thing too ^^

Believe me, especially around Halloween, Christmas, and when other "candy like" holidays occur. Also, try to get people to help you out.

Like VP, etc, because it can get tough with planning.

    Don't want you stressed!

Btw, cosplaying usually isn't accepted in schools, unless it's a spirit day/week, or Halloween. Possibly AFTER school, or get written permission to cosplay during a specific time if it's for a contest.

I don't think Roleplaying would be accepted by every teacher either, but many schools are different ^^

If you want to travel, you need money, remember that!

  5. Have a cosplay contest, a trip to an anime convention, round table discussions of favorite animes, anime trivia quiz contests, and stuff like that.

  6. Create your own stories!  Make fanfictions and manga.  Make a collaboration as a final project, with everybody drawing their own characters on a piece of paper.  Try to create your own anime!

Maybe you could organize trips to the Japanese Comiket (August 15th weekend, and between December 28-31) and the Southern Californian Anime Expo (July 4).  Be critics of what you're watching and try to improve the story.

  7. Plan a trip to a convention. Every hardcore anime fan LOVES conventions, and there should be plenty at different points in the school year.

Have a day where everyone learns how to draw a little manga or something.

    Roleplay! Cosplay!
