I have helped scouts with eagle porjects which included building gardens for the elementary school, painting churches, building benches for the park, planting trees at the zoo

BUT!!!!! (sounds nerdy) i dont just want to fulfill the requirement, i want to go BEYOND....do something cool...awesome....so give me some cool ideas and i will repay you wtih my full gratitude, i promise

Something that will headline the newspaper (I am NOT!!! doing this for fame or self-recognition, its not worth it....just want to do a service project of that caliber)

  1. Hello rick:

Boys Life magazine is now running articles on projects that other Scouts have done to earn the Eagle rank. The best thing is to look around your community and see what you could do to improve something. Read your paper and look for ideas for a project that will benefit the community, and can showcase your leadership skills. Speak with your religious leaders, school principal, and maybe even your town mayor or council representatives and ask if there are any projects that need to be done but there is no money in the budget for them. You can also do an internet search to find projects that other Scouts have done and get ideas from their past projects.

Best tip I can think of is to make sure that the project can be completed, you get approval prior to starting work, and that you document EVERYTHING relating to the project, including your brainstorming sessions.

    Keep on Scoutin'
