We just bought our house in April & it is brand new the only thing is the back yard slopes & I have no idea what to do. We like to spend time outside & cook out. I love flowers & want a place to sit & eat. We were thinking a wooden deck or something. I will post a pic in a few min please give me some ideas! Thanks

There are many ideas , and the slope is good for drainage, and water features.

  2. If the slope is steep, you can create several  levels ...which will give you planting areas & flat areas to walk on.

If you use a variety of materials & textures,  it'll add more interest.

This video shows how to install walkways & planting areas on an steep slope...but can also be used for a lesser slope or for creating levels for other landscaping ideas.

Even in a small area, you can make level changes to decrease steep slopes & make planting areas.

This wood patio &  planting area was made by digging into the hill & making one level for plants, & another level for the patio. A fence & retaining wall was used for this project:

Inspiring landscapes using rocks & "found" materials. You can add a gazebo for a place to sit & eat:
