I need ideas for planning an inexpensive wedding!

My fiance and I are getting married July 25, 2009 and we had planned with my dad that he would help us pay for it. Well, my dad isn't getting enough work right now to barely pay for his bills and we are now spotting him every once in a while. There is no way I can bring myself low enough to put stress on him any longer to help us pay for the wedding. We can budget a wedding of $3,000 with EVERYTHING. We are in Sylmar, CA, if anybody has any ideas for wedding locations, decorations, food, etc. we would so greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance! Britt and Dont'e.

  1. First of all sit down with your fiance and make a list of all the thing that you will like to do, then go over the list, trim it down and take out all that is not really necessary. divide that list into ceremony, reception and honeymoon. After try to get as much help as you can because you will probably need to do a lot yourself. so get help from as much friends and family as possible for decoration and for reception. for food you can buy the food at a location and get disposable plate and cutlery such as these

that look real and shophisticated for a very low cost.

for the ceremony if it is inside a church just get about 12 pew bows for the alley and a aisle runner.

for the reception table you can buy some vase at a dollar store and fill them with rose petal. and surround the vase with small candle. try to go as simple as you can.

  2. Try to locate the book by Diane Warner, 'How to have a big wedding on a small budget'.  It retails for $15, but try your library, Halfprice bookstore or half.com first.

There's some very valuable info in those pages.

  3. HAVE THE WEDDING AND RECEPTION IN THE SAME LOCATION

USE CANDLES AS CENTERPIECES INSTEAD OF FLOWERS

LOOK FOR A LOCAL PARK THAT POSSIBLY HAS A GAZEBO OR FOCAL POINT AND HAVE THE CEREMONY OUTSIDE

HAVE A SIT DOWN RECEPTION ONLY JUST DINING AND CONVERSATION NO MUSIC
