I need to have taper candle holders that fit with a luau themed wedding. I have thought of mini tin sand pails but I'm not sure they will work well. All ideas are welcome! Thanks

  1. I have to agree with you that the tin pails may not hold the candle too well, the taper may be too top heavy.  May I suggest use a glass taper holder that is shaped like a flower.  I have seen them in several dollar stores.  If you do not like that idea what about using luminars instead of tapers.  At www.orientaltrading.com they have a lot of luau themed supplies maybe you can find something there.

  2. I think they might work well. I've seen mini tin sand pail votive candle holders for sale online. I've also seen votive candleholders shaped like sandals for sale on www.favorfrenzy.com if you're willing to consider votive candles.

  3. Hi     The   idea of  the mini tin pails   is  good  andwill work.

first   put a match to the bottom of the candle,  and

immediately  put it  in the pail.   the  melted  wax  will hold it in place,.   then  put  your  sand, and maybe some  tiny  shells,  or small beads on  top of  sand  for   color.    use  same  colors that are in your  scheme.        or you could  use  small votive candle holders,  and put some  colored beads or  glass marbles in them.    gluing the candle to bottom  as i mentioned  before  to hold  in place.    you can do almost anythng  with the  glass  marbles,  all craft stores have them,  and they are not  particularly  round  some have flat sides,  which  you could   hot  glue  gun them  to  the outside of the pail,  or   votive holder,

hope this gives you a few ideas.
