okay, so, i've just finished my standard grades and got 6 out of 8 credits. the other two were generals which i will appeal for and get credits. however, i have a four for maths and i can't change that. i don't think. i am hoping to apply to university for entry in 2009. i'm 16 and a half years old now, i will be 17 and a half years old when i start. i'm sitting 5 highers this year.. art, english, psychology, french and geography. i'm very interested in all of these subjects but i'm not sure what i;d like to do. i definately want to go to university though! do people think that i;m a bit young? my teachers all say that i'd be more than capable as i'm intelligent. if i worked this year and got even 4 b's and an a, or even 5 b's. do you think it would be ok? do you think i could cope with uni? i need advice! my friend is going to uni this year and he's 17 and a half, but he's at the end of his 6th year. i'm old for my year so i guess it's like being in his position. he didn't do that well and came away with cs and bs, but is still making it. what should i do?!

  1. I would take Maths as one of your Highers. Try your best to get at least one A. Hope this helps.

  2. i studied at Heriot Watt in Edinburgh in the early 1990's, I'm sure they do a degree in brewing - so if you like your beer.....

as for applying do you not still do this trhough UCAS, choose up to 5 courses and then when each institution responds they will let you know what grades they require. So if you have your heart set on a particular subject - apply to 5 unis in Scotland to do the same course.

If your good at Maths and Science go for those as they are in demand!
