I watch 6 two year olds and lately I am running out of ideas to entertain them, and what crafts are age apropriate? Finger painting and coloring are getting pretty old to them. Please help me think of some fun things to do!

  1. Start teaching them their letters - use a song, Like "A say AY and A says AH, every letter makes a sound, A says Ay and Ah..."

In fact, any song works wonders with tots.

Freeze Dance - they won't necessarily get it, but they'll love the dancing!

Hand games are fun for little ones - easy patty cake games will work.

Button-Button will be fun for them, as will other "who has it" games.

Scavenger hunts/I Spy/ finding games using colors or letters - the parents will love that you are educating them!

  2. You could always get these things called magnetiles. I'm a preschool teacher and my kids always love playing with them. Then you can always get like play animals(not stuffed) and they can pretend to build a zoo with the magnetiles and animals. If no magnetiles, regular blocks work also.

  3. I think that some songs would be a good Idea!!... There are many little kid songs that you could start to teach them like, The itsy bitsey spider and the alphabet song.. it is never to early to stat learning the alphabet!!.. it will make their minds grown the younger they learn the better. you have to make it fun so they are interested and want to learn more!!! Sing along's are great and go over well with little kids

  4. go to abcteach.com and check out dltk.com

LOTS of printable worksheets and crafts to do with younger kids.

  5. Get some fun music. You need something with hand motions. Kids this age really like learning new songs. The songs can be educational too. You could sing the abc's and do the abc's in sign language. Have fun with music.

You could get some larger blocks and play stacking games or count how many blocks everyone has...

I really like the music. They would enjoy that and music could take quite a bit of time everyday.

Good luck. Research a little online and you should be able to find lots of sites with games. Also you could find out what they are interested in and have them color.

    Have fun!!

  6. Go to walmart or even a dollar store and get the crafts like making a door hanging sign make little pets out of pom pom balls.

  7. Playing games like red light green light with them read to them, bake them some cookies and cupcakes, do a art project with them.

  8. Try letting them make some music. get out your pots and pans and spoons and have a parade around the house. They can make banners to carry and dress up in costumes! They'll have a blast and all you'll need is a good pair of earplugs! Good luck!

  10. crafts generally catches their interest- any art activity that involves mixing, painting, slime or gooey stuff will help extend their sitting span and encourages them to talk about their works.

make sure you also teach them to use materials and pack them away after. exhibit their works at the end of the day and place a small card with their name and labels.

songs and dances will also prove to be fascinating to these kids. they love to move around and dance.

  11. well i have two 2 year ols kids and i give them huge legos sp they can play with. you cal also teach them songs, give big building blocks.

  12. You can let them do their own creative projects without having them make something in particular. Give them construction paper, glue, crayons, markers, stickers, etc and let them go to town.

What about shaving cream? Kids can doodle in it, make pictures, even work on their alphabet if they are ready for that. Plus, it's easy to clean up.

Edible playdough is fun if they aren't alergic to peanut butter.

What about twister? If they don't know their color, you could print out different pictures that they would know and tape them to the twister game.

Ok, one more idea...an indoor sandbox using cornmeal instead of sand.

    Good luck!
