I need ideas to stimulate my daughters education?

As mentioned in a previous question my Daughter watches Einstein Dvd's and to me they are educationl, however, I got some negative feedback...So, im asking what are some things that you do with your infant to stimulate there brain/education? I read, let her watch Einstein and take her outside alot, however is this enough? Does anyone have anymore tips? Thanks! (My daughter is 9 months old)

At nine months I was using education toys...shape and color blocks.  (9 months is still very young).  When she was able to walk I bought the Learning Frogs magnetic numbers with this holder that says that letter and the different ways to say them.  She would would play with it when I was cooking dinner. . .she would be playing/learning and I could keep and eye on her while interacting with her singing the songs.  To this day she remembers the different sounds that the letters make and can sing the songs (she is 5 yrs).

See if your library has a book - How to Raise a Smarter Child by Kindergarten, by a Dr. Perlmutter.  Its full of activities.  Even as simple as playdough, or  when you are at the grocery store and getting apples, talk to her, and say apple.

As for Einstein videos, the problem I have with those specifically is that they cater to short attention spans - short clips - versus developing attention spans.  However, I did let my kids watch some tv that young, we'd do shows like the Wiggles that are interactive.  Now my kids know sweet dance moves.
