I saw a show, don't know what channel, a week or two ago that had a big black compost bucket with a lid that you put your food scraps in, and some kind of worm things.. when the worms eat the food, the waste they produce has no oder and is extremely high nutrient soil.

Anyone know where to get one of these buckets (In the USA)? What kind of worms those are? And anything else I might need to know about this? I know they said the worms do not like citrus peels and a couple of other things.

Also, would you recommend 2 buckets so you can fill one, and while you're filling the other, use the soil from the first one?

  1. u dont need one of those buckets to start a compost. they r just trying to get money from u. u can just pick a place on the ground and start it there. what our family did, is we used chicken wire and made a tube out of it then placed that right on the ground. this is actually better because the the stuff u put in it wont ferment because the air can come throw the chicken wire and let it air out. plus, if u put it right on the ground, then the worms will come to it and u dont have to buy any. this is the best way to go. and to start ur compost, just put a lot of loose dirt in the bottom and some weeds or grass clippings, then more dirt. then u can start putting food scraps ontop of that. make sure to turn ur compost about 2 times a month. i hope this helped!
