  1. the question is hard to answer without a little more specific background as to exactly what type of information you are looking for... but I'll give it a try.

    1) the ethics of letting people starve is unquestionably wrong; aquaculture can help prevent starvation

    2) the ethics of overfishing the environment or destroying habitat in the pursuit of seafood products is unquestionably wrong; aquaculture can play a part in sustainable production of seafood

    3) aquaculture techniques can be used to replenish stocks of species that have become threatened or endangered and thus aquaculture can help maintain biodiversity in an ecosystem

    4) aquaculture is best carried out in a system that is separate from the natural environment, especially a system that can be managed to suit the species being cultured; thus the practice of aquaculture in those types of systems does not directly or adversely affect the natural biodiversity of ecosystems

    5) suitable aquaculture species are selected from all species based on their traits or qualities that lend themselves to production systems thus aquaculture itself is not a contributing factor to reducing biodiversity in ecosystems

    6) biodiversity is an important quality for some aquaculture systems, cultured oyster beds for example attract a variety of species that live together in an ecosystem that is based on the structure created by the oysters being cultured, so in this sense aquaculture creates biodiversity

in summary, biodiversity and aquaculture are not mutually exclusive and sometimes even complement each other. There does not necessarily have to be a choice of favoring one and opposing the other

    good luck!
