I need info on Barbary Doves (ring-necked doves) Can any1 help??

I really need 2 no how 2 tell the difference between male and female Barbary doves because I want to them to have babies. Also when is their breeding season? And how do they like their nests???

  1. You can tell the difference between the genders by a couple different factors. First, males will have a dark ring around their neck, where females will have a very faint one, if any.

    Their breeding season runs from spring to late summer, but if they are kept indoors in a warm house, they may breed at any time of the year.

    My doves like open nests (not the closed ones meant for finches) with nesting material set to the side for them to use. They seem to like making their nests themselves. I give them coconut fiber, but you could also try yarn and shredded paper to see what they do.
