  1. Do you have the option of putting the new bird in a seperate cage? That is the safest way to get them use to each other.

  2. This is VERY important! If you get a new bird, you need to keep it separate, in DIFFERENT rooms from the other bird for a month. The reason for this is it is very hard to track a disease a bird can carry when it is younger. If it has a disease (and a lot of pet shop birds do) it will pass it on to your bird and it will die.

So before you introduce them, you really need to keep them separate or you could risk both birds lives. Then, you can begin housing them near each other, placing the cages next to each other, and eventually put them both into one cage.

  3. put them in two cages next to each other but thats the best you gonna  do cause they can be mean

My mom had 3 parakeets and she wanted more so she tryed let them be in the same cage and the others literally torn the the other bird into peices

  4. As many people have said first get them in seperate cages, then after the new bird has settled in get someone to hold the old bird and you to hold the new bird. Bring them into the same room but make sure they cannot fly away. Every day do this until the birds are used to it, then move the cage into the same room and close to each other. Once they are used to each other put them in the same cage. But if the parakeet ins't vicious I don't really see a reason why it would attack the new bird. But anyway even if they were fine I would still do the above steps, better to be safe than sorry!
