We just got bought a digital tv and will get converter boxes for our others when the switch takes place in Feb. What kind of outdoor digital antenna is best? Also, is there any other things we need to consider in preparation for this?

  1. I would add that you need to make sure you have a UHF antenna, as a lot of rooftop antennas are VHF only. But it is possible to use an existing antenna. But if you do not get satisfactory results you may want to look at a new one.

  2. If you already HAVE a good outdoor antenna system, that is all you need.  If you find the available signals marginal then you may want to stick up a larger antenna because the digital signals are at a much lower power than the old Analog ones.  I can pick up DIGITAL signals, using the converter box from Wal-Mart that I could NOT pick up as the old analog signals and the picture is equal to satellite.
