  1. Hi

Both my daughter and I are dyslexic, and my daughter also has ADHD.

I have included a few links for you and your father to read, on is an online test, but this is not conclusive, but it is a fairly good guide, one shows what dyslexics may see when reading, and the other is the symptoms of dyslexia.

Ideally you need to be tested by a school psychologist who specializes in learning disabilities, in-particularly dyslexia. Pediatricians usually don't not diagnose dyslexia, but you may need to see them first to be referred onto a school psychologist.

If you want any further information on coping strategies or tips for dyslexia please email me.

  2. Dyslexia is a learning disability that manifests primarily as a difficulty with written langauge, particularly with reading and spelling. It is separate and distinct from reading difficulties resulting from other causes, such as a non-neurological deficiency with vision or hearing, or from poor or inadequate reading instruction.[1] Evidence suggests that dyslexia results from differences in how the brain processes written and/or verbal language. Although dyslexia is the result of a neurological difference, it is not an intellectual disability. Dyslexia occurs at all levels of intelligence; sub-average, average, above average, and highly gifted

  3. Dyslexia is not only in reading or writing numbers or letters backwards.  Sometimes you take what people say or read almost like its backwards or like your coming through the back door instead of seeing it frontways.  Your dad can ask the school to test you when you explain your problem and then it's free for you.  Just maybe you need a full psychological evaluation and its ODD.  Your medication for your ADD also may need to be reevaluated for either more mgs or another smaller dose at noon or try a different med.  I have some boys that took awhile to get the right one and right mgs.  When your having trouble just remind yourself to "focus"  put your mind to it and that'll help you out too.

  4. dyslexia is a disease because of which a person is not able to read clearly... Like u read a word in the reverse Eg:Nowhere would be read as Erehwon...... Something like that.... I don't think ur a dyslexic cause u've typed correctly except a few spelling mistakes Eg:probably..... Anyways if ur suspecting urself to be a dyslexic then better go for a check-up.....
