they are very clean, have little odor, are extremely intellegent, social and loving

rat have some health problems respritory especially, many have allergies an if they catch namonia it could be fatal if not tended to, cedar bedding can be extremely dangeroud for the rat and pine can cause problems as well. and many get tumors best way to prevent tumors is by having them fixed

  2. Hey, I'm a rat owner myself.

Rats are omnivores with a general lifespan of 2 - 4 years. They usually grow up to about 10 centimetres in length, and their average weight ranges from 300 - 400 grams, depending on gender-- males are bigger.

They are very inquisitive, social creatures, who love to explore and play. They're also extremely intelligent and loyal.

Rats, like other, larger domestic pets, can be taught tricks and commands, such as stay. They are very quick learners.

Their usual diet can include meats, dairy, lentils, pasta, rice, vegetables and fruit-- pretty much anything! Though junk food, especially soft drink, should not be given to them, because rats are unable to regurgitate or burp if they eat something that doesn't agree with them.

Unfortunately, rats are extremely susseptible (females in particular) to mammary tumors.

Uh, that's about all I can think of. Hope it helps. :]
