  1. Adopt a child that is waiting in foster care.  There are a lot of kids who are in need of a good home and the fees are usually low if there are any at all.

Children Awaiting Parents: Provides pre- and post-adoption information to prospective foster and adoptive parents, in addition to photos and narratives of waiting children.

  2. Foster-adoption will not cost you all of those high agency fees.  It will also give a child who is in foster care a family, so s/he doesn't have to possibly grow up in the foster care system.  Contact the department of social services (or its equivalent) in your county.

  3. You may want to check into adopting from foster care/social services. That option is usually the most affordable. There are many grants, loans, and other financial resources out there to help parents build their family through adoption as well. There is also an adoption tax **credit** (credit as in get tax dollars back) that you may qualify for as well. I believe it is around $11k now. Also, many agencies have reduced fees for waiting or promise children.

    Good luck!

  4. You should look into adopting through the foster care system.

  5. Adopt from foster care I guess.

Agencies are on a mission to make money, which is disgraceful when we're talking about wheeling and dealing in human lives.

  6. It is very sad to say but many agencies have a decrease in fees if you will adopt an african american or bi-racial baby.  Try angeladoptioninc.com   also some agencies do income based adoptions you just have to search for them.  We have adopted and plan to do so again.  The big thing to remember is the fees do not happen all at one time they are usually spread out over 1-2 years.  Also, an agency does not have to be in your state to help and some states are just less expensive...(Texas, California).  Hope this helps.
