  1. I spend a lot of time in Ensenada.  I have a trailer there in a camp (kind of like a gringo trailer park) right on the ocean and the estero bay. Food and gas is a little cheaper than in the US but where you can really save is housing.  I pay $120 a month rent for trailer, space, water and electricity but it is "basic".  We have to use the community toilet but we have our own sinks and shower.  We only have electricity from about sundown to midnight, it's a camp generator. Everything is propane including our frig. So if you're looking for inexpensive you can find it there.  I talked to one person that had a little studio apt, probably pretty much in a local (what we would call) fairly ghetto area, their cost 650 pesos or 65 bucks a month!  You can live very well on social secuirty down there. Of course if you're looking to buy upscale touristy real estate you'll pay quite a bit for it. Good luck and maybe I'll see you down at the taco stand!

  2. well all i can say is ensenada is tight as heck. its so fun.

  3. Are you sure you want to live so close to the border.   Everything is cheaper and warmer the further south you go
