For example, my current "insurance" has a max. of $700/year for Rx benefits and I maxed that in 2 months! The meds I am on I have to have in order to work. And. the Dr visits have a $25 copay, a maximum per visit of $50 with a max yrly benefit of $300! You guessed it! I am done with that too! It's kinda like a better than nothing policy but great day! surely there is more out there. PLEASE help! I feel like I am working to pay my dr and rx bills. Any suggestions would be great. Even if you know of a reputable place to contact that would accept me with my condition. I cant understand why this facility couldnt get a good group coverage. I asked this lady that came today from the ins. company and she said b/c this facility (nursing home) has > 50 employees and most are women. Another option is my husband has no insurance but they are willing to get coverage. Problem is that this company has less than maybe 10 full time employees. Anything there?? Thanks!

  1. AmeriPlan USA.. is a great option..  please e-mail for details!

  2. Well, you WILL be working to pay the bills, sorry.  I don't know of anyone that's going to give you a private policy, that will cover the fibro.

Your best bet is to either get another job with better coverage, or have your husband get a job with a group policy where you can be added.

  3. Unfortunately your current medical condition will be grounds to be declined for individual coverage. Your states Blue Cross should have a gauranteed issue health plan but it willnot cover pre-existing conditions for 12 months and the rates are very high compare to other plans.

I do have a few ideas to help you save some money on your current expenses.

An indeminty plan can offer you some benefits. This type of plan pays a set benefit for Dr visits and hospital stays. Here is an example of one http://www.homeland4one.com/index.cfm?id...

If you have medical bills over $250 you can try and have them negotiated to a lower price. If you visit MyMedicalcontrol.com they will try and negotiate a lower price for you. If they succed you will pay them 30% of what they saved you, if they are not able to get you a better price you are not charged anything.

If your husbands employer wants to start a group plan they will typically need at least 75% of the employees to sign up for the coverage. Most Insurance companies require the employer topay at least 50% of the cost of insurance for each employee. Since it is group coverage you medical condition will be accepted but the rates for the entire group will be raised.

Lastly Use yellowpages.com to search for health insurance brokers in your area. A Broker represents multiple carriers and can help you sort through all the different insurance companies and plan options in your state. Don't call your auto and home agent they specialize in property and causality insurance. You need someone that specializes in health insurance. These areas of insurance even require separate licenses.
