  1. Way too much info out there to put it in one answer. Check out the Y!A questions bellow for info related to you questions.

As for what's better, that is really for you to decide. Try interning/volunteering at a zoo/aquarium or doing a keeper/trainer for a day to get an idea of what you might like to do.

JessicaAmber87 has a great answer and I hope mine added to it. Good Luck.

  2. I don't know your answer, but remember you might love them, but you are on their menu if they get mad.

  3. It sounds like you are interested in the wildlife care field, not the zoologist field.  Zoologists generally do research with animals and most positions are in academics.  However, there are Wildlife Care professionals who get training in animal sciences, psychology, and the care and maintenance of wildlife.

There are degree programs in this field.  For example:  http://www.unity.edu/Academic/Majors/Wil...

  4. im a zoologist and i must admit sadly there are not many high positions available in this field, to get anywhere worth while ull need to be very good at it esp when specializing or ull have to go to the entertainment industry, ie filmng animals ect.

  5. A zoologist is a person who studies animals, If you wanted to study only tigers you could. Many zoologists only study a certain type of animals for more information...

if you need more just ask.

  6. Become a charity worker. Help prevent the loss of endangered tigers and look after them in places like the savana or china.

  7. Are you still in school? If so, ask your school guidance counselor about career opportunities about your areas of interest. Look up some zoos in your area and email them with questions. Tell them how old you are, and what you're interested in doing. There are so many career options involving direct work with animals. To me, it sounds like you're more interested in working with animals of the wild. If you were interested in working with domestic animals, there's always veterinary work, like you said. There's veterinary technician work, which usually involves a one-two year college course, and you can always pick your practice that you want to work at. Some vets deal with only cats and dogs. Some deal with horses. Different vets deal with different things. Every zoo has a wildlife veterinarian as well, so that's something you can consider. There's animal control officer careers. Being an animal control officer consists of helping stray animals and dealing with animal abuse cases. You can ask your school guidance counselor about classes in wildlife biology, zoology, marine biology and other classes that involve working directly with animals. You might want to look in to volunteering at a local zoo and getting some first hand experience with working with animals. Good luck to you!
