I need locker decorations suggestions.

i am going to 7th grade and is my first year with lockers and in middle school. and i don't want a plain locker and i need help. i need sites or suggetions.

Just get one of those shelves for the bottom, and the two book shelves (they come in a pack of two at like walmart/target) in whatever colors are your favorite. Add a magnet mirror that you can get a target/walmart, some stickers, some bumper stickers, and some magnets from like hot topic/spencer gifts. And if you're really girly, add a cute border around the inside with tape and like a boa or a cute ribbon. If you're REALLY daring, you can use wrapping paper on the inside, but I'm not sure what rules your school has, so you might want to stick with posters/pictures and magnents to hold them up.

well its best to not use stickers.. you have to clean them at the end of the year... get cute magnets to hold notes a little locker organizer .. and maybe even a mirror... if you want about average prices try target, walmart, or maybe clairs

decorating my locker is one of my favorite parts of the beginning of school! :)

i'm going to be a senior this year and i first had a locker in 5th grade...wow that seems like sooo long ago.

lol well anyways...i sometimes take cute wrapping paper and tape it up in my locker and then i decorate it with lots of pictures of my friends and cousins and stuff.

lots of magnets...especially cute small ones to hold up pictures and notes or whatever.

me and my friends sometimes color pictures for eachother if we're bored at school so we decorate our lockers with those too!

magnetic mirrors, dry erase boards, pencil holders, notepads...

if you have shelves in your locker you can get framed pictures and put one or two in there...

or a small box of kleenex

just about anything!!!

ALL OF MY TIPS:

(not mine, various places)

your locker can be given a "theme." For example, "Go Hawaiian" by selecting shelf paper in a hibiscus pattern and adding surfer photos to the locker door. Or get "Sporty" with a magnetic mini-basketball hoop and pics of your fav athletes and teams. Use your creativity to work these other locker must-haves into your own theme:

Shelf Paper: Use shelf paper to line your locker door and walls (as long as your school approves of this because really, it's their locker). Be sure to use transparent tape that is easy to remove - never use glue! There are plenty of shelf paper designs to choose from that will match your decorating theme or your personality.

Mirrors: It's easy to find magnetic mirrors that are made for lockers. Check out your local store that sells school or office supplies. Locker mirrors come in very handy for between-class hair and makeup checks.

Magnets: Magnets are a great way to decorate your locker, since they're removable. Colorful, funky magnets will brighten your day as you make pit stops between your classes. You can also create your own customized magnet set - just glue personal photos or cutout magazine pics onto store-bought magnets.

Erasable Boards: These are great for leaving yourself reminders, like "Bring math book tomorrow" or "Meet BFF at Starbucks after gym class." Get the kind that comes with dry-erase markers, so you can erase old stuff easily with a cloth.

Photos: This is the ultimate way to personalize your locker. Plastic frames with magnets on the back are an easy way to display snapshots. You also can buy packs of magnets (including ones that suit your locker "theme") and use them to pin up your pics. Whatever your theme, be sure to include pictures of you and your friends (and if you've got one, your boyfriend) so you see them and smile every time you open the door.

Shelving: You can purchase shelves that are designed to fit into lockers. They're a great way to keep your books organized and to not waste that open space.

Pencil Holder: Buy an inexpensive mug that matches your theme, to hold extra pens and pencils. Or, store that stuff in clear, plastic containers with lids that allow you to see what's inside the container without having to open it.

Calendar: A magnetic calendar is a good thing to have on the door of your locker. You can use it to post your school schedule, for important events, or both.

Instead of using a store-bought makeup caddy, make your own! Take a small, plastic or cardboard rectangular box (an old Tupperware container or small gift box would work well) and remove any lid if necessary. Cover the box in paper or fabric. Use a small piece of mirror (these can be found at most craft stores) and glue it onto one side of the box with a hot glue gun. Then, fill the box with the makeup you'll need for touchups after gym class or by the middle of the day. Most girls will want concealer, powder, a lip color, and maybe mascara. I also like to keep a simple shadow or two for mornings where I didn't have time to put on makeup before leaving the house.

Cut a heavy cardboard or cork board about fifteen inches long, of a width to fit into your locker door. Wrap the board in fabric, extending it around the edges to be secured in the back. Cut ribbon to create a diagonal grid across the face of the cardboard. Photos and papers can now be attached to the board by securing them behind a ribbon or with thumbtacks. It should be affixed to the locker door with tape or magnets, which can be glued on the back of the board.

There may not be much you can do about the outside of lockers, but the inside is all yours. Your locker is something that you will have all year, and by making it personal, it will reflect you to everyone who sees it. Your locker is the one piece of school that is yours (well, somewhat) but with a few minutes of time, your locker can have its place in the hall. Learn about your school policy for decorating lockers. Some schools allow you to paint the lockers, while some don't even allow any pictures to be hung in the locker. Read the policy (it’s probably in your student handbook), and ask an administrator if you have any questions.

Clean your locker. Unless it’s the beginning of the school year, your locker is probably a mess. Take everything out, throw away the trash, bring home what you don’t need, and give your locker a good scrubbing. Bring some wet wipes to school and wipe down your locker. It sounds silly, but with some elbow grease, you'd be surprised at what "gunk" comes off of your locker. If you do have some spare time, try using a Mr. Clean magic eraser, and use some water from the water fountain. Clear your canvas, so to speak.

Choose a theme. Of course you can just hang whatever you want in there, but having a theme can make your locker a more cohesive expression of your inner self. If you’re not into that artsy stuff, just think of it this way: a theme can make your decorating choices easier and make your locker look better. The possibilities for themes are endless: sports, the jungle, the color pink, etc. Choosing a theme can give you a chance to reflect on yourself and truly personalize your locker. What are you interested in? Who are you?

Make sure that there is enough room in your locker for the necessities. You can decorate your whole locker so that there’s no room left in it, but you’ll be stuck carrying around your books all day. Try to imagine everything that you would need to have in your locker at once—all of your books, your backpack, your coat, and personal items—and then get all that stuff together and arrange it in your locker so you can see how much room you’ll have to work with.

Get plenty of magnets. You could decorate your whole locker using magnets alone, but they’re also ideal for hanging things up in lockers. For one thing, they’re easy to use. For another, they’re easy to remove. Use magnets whenever possible, because tape and stickers will make your cleanup job much harder at the end of the year (although some self-adhesive products may also be easily removable). Your choice of magnets should reflect your theme, or you can choose small, plain magnets that at least won’t distract from your other content.

Install your background. If that “locker look” doesn’t go with your theme, create a fresh-looking canvas by using wrapping paper or construction paper that is cut to cover the entire door or walls of the locker. You can also try wallpaper, but unless you get the kind that is specifically designed for lockers, don’t actually glue it in (use magnets).

Add accessories. Little extras, like a mirror, a notepad, a pencil holder, or a clock, can be installed in your locker for convenience. It’s best to install this right after your background so you can plan your decorations around them.

Pick school-appropriate pictures and other objects to hang in your locker. Keep in mind that when you have your locker open, other people, including teachers, will be able to see what is in it, so be careful what you choose. Consider hanging up pictures of friends and family or other pictures that you’ve taken, or make a photo collage out of magazine clippings. Postcards, nice shopping bags, or posters also make great wall hangings, but choose things that reflect your own personality and style. Don’t just do what everybody else is doing.

Add the trimmings. Once you have your “content” arranged, go ahead and accentuate it. You can put in ribbon streamers, fabric pieces, etc., or you can even put in a thin wooden frame around your art.

Engage the senses. Lockers don’t get a lot of air circulation, so consider putting in an air freshener. Not only will it help cover up the smell of that sandwich you left in there last week—hopefully you threw it away by now—but the scent provides yet another way to personalize your locker.

Keep your locker neat. Now that you’ve spent all that time getting your locker just right, keep it in good condition. Clean it out regularly, and keep it organized. Just opening and closing the door of your locker will eventually make things start to shift around, especially if you haven’t hung them very securely, so periodically maintain your art to keep it looking great.

Mix it up. You can keep the same theme all year or you can redo parts of it or the whole thing from time to time. Consider making seasonal changes or decorating your locker for holidays or important events. Keep it interesting all year long. You might even make new Don't forget the door, you can put a mirror on it, or a mailbox where friends can leave notes by pushing them through the little slits in the door! Call your locker partner and find out what you both want your locker to look like. Set a time to rendezvous at your locker before school starts or after school to decorate it.

Put mirrors in the back of your half-locker for reflection only, to help you to find loose stuff at the back; don't put your personal mirror way back there or you'll find that you practically have to stick your head all the way inside to see. For your own needs, put a mirror on the door where you can see your face easily.

3. Buy a mirror that comes with a marker. That way you can write on the mirror and save the space a dry erase board would take up. Make sure you have erasing liquid as well. Use a healthy natural kitchen cleaning spray which is kind to your lungs and the atmosphere.

4. Avoid sticky stuff. Most schools don't let you use tape, so try to avoid other sticky things also. You can buy small jeweled picture frames that are really cute and don't take up a ton of space.

5. Hang stuff on those hooks! The hooks are there for a reason. Hang your purse, lunch box, and whatever else there so you have more room. It makes the space go a lot further.

6. Buy a shelf and put your books on it. It will leave space below for your bag, clothes etc.

7. Decorate your locker with wrapping paper. Buy cute wrapping paper to use as wallpaper for the inside of the locker door. Cut the paper to size, and tape it up nicely. Don't let the tape show.

8. Put up some of your favorite quotes. For quotes, go to a scrapbook store. There you can find cute quotes that are all decorated and pretty. Get some magnetic strips and attach them to the backs of the quote.

9. Use CDs to make your locker sparkly. Just add some on the back wall of your locker, and you can even put pictures in the hole in the middle.

Tips

• If you are sharing a locker, you might be able to design a decorative scheme with the person you're sharing with.

• You could try hanging things from ribbon instead of sticking them - pin things onto the ribbon that you tie from the top of your locker space.

• Try using magnet tape.

• You can also consider using magnets in your locker. Magnets usually wont stick or damage your locker and they will make your locker look cool!

• If you want to hang a mirror in your locker and your locker is not magnetic get a magnet board put it in the back of your locker so you can put a mirror or something there.

• If you buy a shelf, make sure that it will fit, some are too big for smaller lockers.

Warnings

• Don't leave food in your locker that is going off. It stains and, of course, it stinks.

• If your locker is on the bottom (see picture), try not to wear skirts.

• VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! Make sure your school doesn't mind locker decorating. Some schools only allow the basic essentials; books, backpack, everyday needs(deodorant, brush, etc), and a mirror. Although rare, some schools won't let you even hang pictures in your locker so if your school is like that and you want to have pics, small picture frames are a must.

• If you don't have the time, or the space, to hang up a bulletin board, think about sticking up cork coasters in a pretty formation and they'll act as mini bulletin boards.

• *The best place to show your character in the locker is the inside walls, simply because there’s so much space inside and when you open up your locker that is the only place that holds a lot of decoration. Don’t neglect the walls of your locker, though, if you have enough room left when you’ve got all your stuff in there have some fun put some prom pics in there.

• -*Look through your old magazines and on the internet for pictures suitable for your theme. For instance, if you want to have a theme featuring favorite singers, actors or a band, choose these. Or you could put up photos of your friends.

• Make sure you have enough magnets to hold things in place. If you skip on the magnets, you’ll always have stuff falling off your locker. The dollar store is a good place to look for cool magnets. You might also consider buying some sticky-tack (Blu-Tack) which can hold up pictures and comes off easily.

• Another idea for display is to take a cardboard presentation stand (such as those used in science fairs) and cover it in fabric. Insert bulletin board pins into it and put it at the back of your locker, with its sides covering the sides of your locker as well. It should be a tight fit; use sticky-tack to help it stick. This becomes your bulletin board to post reminders for tests and homework assignments. Add a plastic cup (cut off the back of it) to the board for holding pencils.

• Have some friends help you decorate your locker, and help them decorate theirs. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you put your heads together, and every time you go to your locker you’ll think of what great friends you have.

• Make a little mailbox out of a small box hung on the inside of the locker. Place it so that people can stick notes into it through the locker slats (if you have them).

• If your locker door is painted and finished on both the inside and outside, you can get some dry-erase markers and write important little notes to yourself right on the inside of your locker with them. Make sure they're actually dry erase and not like Sharpies, though. You may want to keep a rag or something in your locker to wipe off the messages, too - dry erase ink on your fingers doesn't rub off easily. Be REALLY careful, however. Some schools are very, very against this. Make sure you ask a teacher that knows whether or not you'll be sent to the principal's office for drawing a smiley face with a dry erase marker. I know from experience.

• Make your own white board by using paper and scotch hand tear tape (the big clear kind). Draw a design on the paper before coating it with the tape. It makes a personalized white board.

no one at my school has ever really decorated thier locker too much. so i wouldn't stress about people looking at your locker and thinking it isn't decorated or "cool".

the best way to cover the inside, is to get wrapping paper and cover the inside with it. its also the perfect height. Put in a mirror and a shelf. it makes things easier. you cant do anything to the outside cause most schools don't allow it. but for your friends birthday you can put wrapping paper on the outside of theirs and it will last about a day.

try going for a simpler look because 2 years ago, i decorated my locker full out and i had the hardest time taking it all out and cleaning it. go for cute magnets and simple locker furniture. go for one or two colors. like pink and white or something. itll look really cute w/ fancy accents too!
