Okay, I have Algebra 2 this year, and I'm already having trouble since I've forgotten so much. I think I got most of the factoring problems, but I don't get how to solve these three:
3x squared + 14x +8
8x squared + 10x -3
16x to the fourth - 9
Sorry about having to type the exponents--I don't know how to type them in here.
Also, using the Zero Product Property to solve equations? Wha??? I don't remember using ANY of that!! Ever!! An example of mine is:
(x-3)(x+2) = 0
How would I go about solving that?
I can't really remember much about graphing linear equations, too. Its y = mx + b, right? What do each of the variables represent? And how to I graph something like y = -3? Isn't it that just a line parallel to the x-axis that runs through -3 on the y-axis?
And how am I supposed to graph y = x squared + 2?? What does the squared do to the line?
I am NOT asking for answers. I just want to know how I would solve those types of problems. Feel free to use a different, yet similar example if you wish to help without giving away the answer. I just want ot understand how to work towards getting the right answer.
Thanks in advance!
