  1. more space would affect the way it sounds. Try using the tips of your fingers instead of the front part. It will get easier! I promise. I thought my fingers were too big when I stared and I was a 60 pound girl then!

  2. Well, its not possible to make more space, and if it was it would s***w up the tuning. It is not the shape of your fingers thats the problem trust me. I have guitar playing hands but I had the same problem when I started out. What you have to do is use the very tips of your fingers. I mean right down to the actual finger nail. If you have to you'll have to use the edge of your finger nails. And curl your fingers. Don't relax them so much. Also make sure that your thumb is at the very bottom of the neck, like right under the first string. I promise you if you keep your thumb wayyy down there your going to have much more freedom and flexibility with your finger movements. Hope that helped. =]

  3. Everyone feels that way at the beginning but if you stick with it you will soon learn to hit only the string you want.  I have short, fat fingers but by now it's not a problem with me even with guitars with a 1 5/8" nut.

  4. You can always try a 12 string guitar, and only string 6 strings.

  5. You just need more practice.
