  1. I think the greatest way for people to start living green is to shop locally and buy fresh produce from their local farmers market, fresh produce doest carry alot of packaging, if any at all and people must buy just what they need so they dont end up wasting.  get ecobulbs, buy reusable shopping bags and water bottles, get energy strips to save electricity, recycle paper, plastics and cans by getting bins, carpool where possible,, you can get more ideas about greening and green products by recommending Total Eco Store http:www.totalecostore.com

  2. you should print out small flyers with tips and websites to go to and put them on your neighbors door handle.. what you should do is buy a low flow shower head, i found a 1.75 gall per minute shower head for 5.25... if you want to know where i got it from just ask me in a message

  4. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning

    Change a Light Bulb

    Drive Less and Drive Smart

    Buy Energy-Efficient Products

    Use Less Hot Water

    Use the "Off" Switch

    Plant a Tree

    Encourage Others to Conserve

  5. A few simple things to do

    1) Recycle

    2) Compost all organics you'd normally throw in the trash, paper included (things that go down the garbage disposal end up being hauled to a landfill)

    3) Buy local goods/produce

    4) Walk/bike if you don't need to drive.

just doing # 1 and 2, you'll notice having to take the garbage out less often

  6. I think you should start with your school first off...mainly because those children are our future generation. Teach them about being environmentally friendly. If your school doesnt have an environmental club (or green club...or anything along the lines) then start it off. Tell a teacher about what you are planning to do and hopefully he/she can help you. After starting your club, here are some ideas you can do:

    - Post signs throughout each and every classroom/staff room/library/etc that says something along the lines of "Before you leave for the night, make sure the lights and computers are turned off"

    - Encourage your cafeteria to stop using styrofoam dishes and instead try using the ones that can be reused and washed (if its possible to get funding)

    - Try having a tree planting day for one day a month or so

    - Encourage changing lightbulbs to energy efficient ones in classrooms or hallways, if applicable

    - Encourage reusing, reducing and recycling. Ask that a note be placed in the staff room around the photo copy machine to encourage printing on both sides of the page! (which in turn reduces the amount of paper needed, and therefore saves your school money!)

    - Bring up the idea of planting a natural garden in your school yard (if its possible). Anything can be planted, from beautiful native flowers from your city or area, to a vegetable garden filled with tomatoes, lettuce, etc (plus: if your school has a food and nutrition class, the kids can use the vegetables in the classroom; again saving your school money).

    - And mostly: educate your friends on the issues of global warming and current environmental issues and disasters around the world.

    Hope this helped!

  7. Do what Chuck Norris did, he replaced his old light saber with a special green CFL model........

  8. Make flayers on all the things you learn like recycling, carpooling, and stuff like that and leave them on all the doorsteps of your community.

  9. go on to  http://www.thedailygreen.com/

    or go to borders.

they have books on being eco-friendly

    and all that stuff lol

here are some other tips i already knew:]

bike/walk instead of driving short distances

    recycle!

encourage a adult to buy a hybird

un plug electronics when your done using them

in morning instead of turning on the lights open the windows

turn off lights when you leave the room

    dont liter!

use a compact fluorescent light bulb

    good luck=]

  10. Small communities are great.  You should convince your community (via door to door) to use recycling bins.  If the state/county/whatever wont provide, you can find a school with a recycling dumpster or something.  You could also go door to door and tell people of the benefits of a fuel efficient car.

I'm thinking of starting something where I put tickets in peoples windshield wipers that says that they need a fuel efficient car and the fine is destroying the planet.  But thats a little harsh.....
