I need my 4-digit car stereo security code. Can anyone help?

I was at a drive-in movie and ended up needing a jump to give my battery some juice at the end of the movie. My stereo keeps prompting me for the 4-digit security code. I called the dealer (like my manual said) and they said that they were going to charge me $100 to get the code to me. I bought the car used, so I'm afraid that this may be the only way. Any other ideas?

call a diff dealer.

it should be free.  i think you have to provide proof that you own vehicle and that's it.  what kinda car is it?

Try 0000. A lot of times that's a default code that's used. Good luck!

If this is a GM car you hold down the 2 and 3 button and it will give you the code to enter which you use the hour and minute buttons to enter.
