Question:

I need new Glasses.Whats best,Bi-Focal Or Varifocal.?

I have always had Bi-Focal,but in order to go smaller i will need Varifocal.

  1. I tried Varifocal too, didn't get on with them as the lenses I picked were small, & they take some getting used to, I'm going for Bi-focal this time . Some opticians offer a free trial for these type of lenses, give them a try and shop around.If you do go for the Vari-,  try not to pick these modern narrow frames !!


  2. I've tried varifocal, and find they are only of limited use, mind you, I've got astigmatism, as well as a distance problem. My main glasses are bi-focal.

  3. Not everyone can cope with varifocal lenses, or indeed bifocals. Good opticians will discuss the pros and cons of each. many will agree to allow you a trial of varifocals and will change the lenses to bifocals at no charge if the experiment fails.
