I need paint tips?

I just got a job at a warehouse place, and I'm working in the paint department. Well, during training, they didn't have any videos for me to watch and all the training books were gone. So I didn't really learn much. Care to share your wisdom of the paint world?

I don't know much, but I do know that there are water-based and oil-based.  Water-based is what you'd use for painting in the house (wall, ceilings, etc.).  Also, if you know the color spectrum, that would help when you have to mix colors together to form a certain color.  I've only painted around the house, and I've never had a job working in a paint dept.
