you can use that as long as it has the visa/mastercard logo on it, and of course enough money in the account to do so

You should be able to use it as long as you have the 3-digit security code on the back which most airlines and website require for purchase, some debit cards don't have them. It's the last three numbers of a longer number on the back of your card, if you have it.
